The 2008 Victorian junior championships will be organised on behalf of Chess Victoria by the Canterbury Junior Chess Club. at the Chess Victoria premises at 3 Rochester Road on the dates specified on the CV calendar.
The championships will be held as 2 separate tournaments as follows

Tournament 1

Under 12, Under 10, Under 8, Boys and Girls

7 rounds
Saturday June 28   Round 1: at 10:00
    Round 2: at 12:15
    Round 3: at 14:30

Sunday June 29   Round 4: at 10:00

  Round 5: at 12:15
    Round 6: at 14:30
    Round 7: at 16:45

Entry fee:  $45 less $10 early bird discount if paid by June 20

Rate of play:  40 minutes plus 30 seconds from move one.

 

Tournament 2

Under 18, Under 16, Under 14, Boys and Girls

9 rounds
Monday June 30   Round 1: at 13:00
    Round 2: at 16:00
Tuesday July 1   Round 3: at 10:00
    Round 4: at 13:00
    Round 5: at 16:00
Wednesday July 2   Round 6: at 12:00
    Round 7: at 15:00
Thursday July 3   Round 8: at 12:00
    Round 9: at 15:00

Entry fee $55 less $10 early bird discount if paid by June 20

Rate of play: 75 minutes plus 30 seconds from move one.

Titles and eligibility

Each entrant is required to nominate the title for which he / she wishes to compete. Tournaments to determine titleholders may be combined or held separately, according to the number of entrants and the titles for which they elect to compete. Where more than one title is to be determined in a tournament, the highest-scoring eligible player in that tournament shall be awarded the title in the highest age group within the tournament concerned. A female player is eligible to hold one girls title and one open title in the same or in different age groups. The 2008 Championships will determine holders of the following titles

Ratings: 
All games in the will be rated on the ACF ratings list.

The venue is located at 3 Rochester Road Canterbury and is within 5 minutes walk from Canterbury Station.
The venue is close to the famous Maling Road shops

Donations:
All Junior tournaments in Victoria are run on a tight budgets
and this the 2008 Vic Junior championships is no exception.
Donations are most welcome and are starting to come in
